Hass' Happy Herd NPGA pygmy goats

Welcome to Hass' Happy Herd in beautiful northwestern Ohio, home of the Bucks!!!!  and does, and many kids!

We are a small farm raising NPGA (registered) and a few grade (non-registered) pygmy goats in Fremont, Ohio, just one hour southeast of Toledo, Ohio and two hours north of Columbus.  We started raising pygmy goats like many others, with just 3 goats in the beginning, and those 3 little does, with the addition of a buck has quickly became the herd of around 20 does and 5-8 bucks that we keep today.   We started with one goat, Hazel, that we traded a few pumpkins for, and then we bought 2 more does a few days later.  Our kids and I fell in love with them, and being the fair going family we are, we soon took a few of our "girls" to the county fair.  Realyzing the importance of correct conformation and muscling, and wanting to be competitive in the showring we decided to improve our herd by bringing in registered stock, and investing in bucks that we believe will improve our herd.  We decided to keep our original girls, we have become extremely attached to our pet goats, and even though they may not contribute to our show goats, we continue to breed a few of their daughters, for "pets."  In 2008 we began to show at NPGA pygmy goat shows, and even though we may be new to the NPGA showring, the kids are having a lot of fun learning the ropes, and with a keen eye, and help from others we have met in the NPGA community, we are creating a herd of showgoats.  We are a busy family, with school, and many activities that the kids are active in, and my family also runs a greenhouse and farm market, Brubaker's Acres, but we are always happy to help anyone who needs some information about pygmy goats, so if you want to talk goats, or may be looking to buy a goat, just give us a call, we are always happy to help you out.
